Germany to provide Tk 201cr grants to Bangladesh health sector
Germany will provide Tk 201 crore grants for Bangladesh to help the country achieve its health related millennium development goals, officials said yesterday.
A financing agreement will be signed between the government of Bangladesh and the KfW Development Bank at the Economic Relations Division in Dhaka today, the KfW office in Dhaka said in a statement.
The fund to be provided by KfW on behalf of the German government will be aligned with other external assistance in the health sector.
It will support Bangladesh in achieving the health related MDGs in fields such as maternal health, nutrition, reproductive health, family planning, control of non-communicable diseases and immunisation.
Md Abul Kalam Azad, secretary of ERD, and Albrecht Conze, German ambassador to Bangladesh, are expected to attend the programme.
